Daal Chawal

Daal Chawal is a simple,healthy and ready to cook recipe.It’s a light rice recipe.You can make it in your lunch and enjoy an easy recipe.Serve it with simple Salad and Achar.

Ingredients:

Rice 2 cups

Water 4 cups

Salt 1 tbsp

Red Lentil/Masoor Daal

Water to boil

Salt 1 tbsp

Red crushed pepper 1 tbsp

Turmeric Powder 1 tbsp

Garlic 7-8 cloves

Green chilli 4-5

Tomato medium 2

Paprika powder 1 tbsp

Procedure:

Daal Chawal

Soak 2 cups of rice in water .Leave it for half an hour. Heat 4 cups of Water in a pan. Add 1 tbsp salt and 1/2 cup oil in it. Let it boil. When water starts boiling add soaked rice in it. Let it boil.When water is drained cover the lid. Simmer on low flame. After 4 minutes transfer it to plate.

Soak Red lentil for 15 minutes.Then in a pressure cooker add 1 tbsp salt, 1 tbsp red crushed pepper, paprika powder,turmeric powder, chopped green chillies,chopped garlic and tomatoes.Then add water and soaked Lentil in it.Cover the lid and cook for 4-5 minutes.Heat oil in a pan.Add chopped garlic and Red pepper in it.When it starts roasting add this to the cooked lentil.
